The University of Delaware Cooperative Extension will be holding two physical activity programs.
“Walk With Ease” will be held April 19-May 24 and is an introductory-level, basic course that provides techniques to begin and maintain a successful walking program. Created by experts at the Arthritis Foundation, topics will include exercising safely and comfortably, improving flexibility, building strength and reducing pain.
The cost is $20 for the six-week session, which will be available in two formats: a Zoom series (live 45-minute classes with a group, Wednesdays at 11 a.m.) or an email series (weekly self-guided classes).
For information and to register before April 5, visit udel.edu/0010285. To apply for a scholarship, contact Nancy Mears at mears@udel.edu before registering.
A second Cooperative Extension course, “Walk+Roll,” will be presented in partnership with community organizations throughout the state.
Led by staff who are CPR-certified, sessions will consist of a warm-up, light stretching, walking/rolling exercises and a cool-down. Spring sites include Seaford, Dover, Wilmington and Newark.
There is no cost, but registration is due by May 27 at udel.edu/0010285.
