DOVER — Chrissy Steele, a Sussex County REALTOR and Coastal Regional Manager with Northrop Realty, was installed on Jan. 27 as the 2023 president of the 4,500+ member Delaware Association of REALTORS by National Association of REALTORS 2023 First Vice President Kevin Sears.
The event, held at Atlantic Sands in Rehoboth Beach, included the installation of the organization’s full slate of officers and directors for the year.
At the event, Refresh: Inaugural Luncheon, Ms. Steele shared her 2023 strategic initiatives to refresh and improve the association’s offerings to its members and the public, including continued efforts to lower the statewide realty transfer tax by 1%.
As president, Ms. Steele will preside at all meetings of the DAR Board of Directors and Executive Committee, and will serve as an ex-officio member of all DAR committees and work groups.
In her capacity as president, Ms. Steele will serve as the official spokesperson for the association on issues related to the real estate industry as well as local residential and commercial markets in Delaware.
She also will represent DAR and its members on the National Association of REALTORS Board of Directors and at local, state, and national functions.
Ms. Steele began her real estate career in 1999 and immediately developed a passion for the business. In 2004, she earned her Associate Broker’s license.
She is a Past President of the Sussex County Association of REALTORS, 2019 REALTOR of the Year, as well as a trained Ombudsman and Mediator.
In addition to her new role as President of the Delaware Association of REALTORS, she also serves on the National Association of REALTORS Professional Standards Committee.
Ms. Steele is married to Sean Steele of Seaford and mother of two.
