University of Delaware’s Cooperative Extension is offering “Dining With Diabetes” classes in Newark, Georgetown and Dover.

The program is designed for people with diabetes and their families but is open to anyone.

The five-class series (one day per week) includes diabetes education, cooking demonstrations and tasting of healthy foods. Participants will learn strategies to manage their condition through meal planning, food selection, portion control and label reading.

The fee for the whole course is $50.

Milford residents can attend for free at any of the locations, with funding from the Milford Lions Club.

Newark classes begin Feb. 23. Sessions begin in Georgetown on March 7, and Dover classes start March 23. To register and view the full schedule, visit here.
