Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition hosting peer mentor training

Posted

The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition is hosting a training session for mentors from 5:30-8 p.m. Jan. 17, 2023, on Zoom.

Space is limited to 12 seats, and registration is required.

When someone is diagnosed with breast cancer, it is often helpful to speak with a survivor who has been through a similar journey. The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition’s Peer Mentor Support for Breast Cancer program provides that free one-on-one support and education.

Peer mentors are trained breast cancer survivors who wish to reach out to aid those newly diagnosed. The organization has a large network of survivors, some of whom speak languages other than English, as well as young survivors.

Anyone interested in the training can register with Connie Holdridge at choldridge@debreastcancer.org or Lois Wilkinson at lwilkinson@debreastcancer.org.
