Chamber Connection: The CDCC’s Awards for Excellence Celebration on June 28

Posted

It’s the most wonderful time of the year in Kent County for the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce (CDCC). Almost rivaling the holiday season, the CDCC is very excited for their yearly culminating event: The 2023 Awards for Excellence Celebration. Chamber Board members, CDCC members, Leadership Central Delaware alumni, friends, and guests are invited to celebrate, honor, and reflect on the past year with the CDCC and Central Delaware on Wednesday, June 28, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the elegant Bally’s Dover Casino Resort Rollins Center. This event is graciously brought to you by signature sponsor, Merrill Lynch – Connell & Associates.

The Awards for Excellence Celebration is absolutely the event of the year for the CDCC. This event marks the end of this nonprofits’ fiscal year in the best way possible – giving back and showcasing their wonderful business members. Attendees will enjoy time to network prior to the start of the program. At this event, the wait will finally be over to know who CDCC members voted as the best of the best. They will be awarding one in each of the following categories. In the Large Employer of the Year category: Bally’s Dover Casino Resort, Kraft Heinz Food Company, Polytech Adult Education. In the Small Business of the Year category: The Ice House: Wellness + Community, Pressley Ridge, Sambo’s Tavern. In the Young Professional of the Year category: Lauren Webb – Dedicated to Women OB/Gyn, Stephen Burgess - Fireside Partners, Inc., and Ryne Johnson – Advantech. The people’s choice will prevail. Being nominated is an honor to be extremely proud of and the CDCC is so grateful to work alongside Kent County Excellence.

Another highly anticipated portion of this event is the Leadership Central Delaware (LCD) Class of 2023’s graduation – of which the Delaware State News Managing Editor, Logan Anderson, is currently amongst those who will be graduating. The class will walk across the stage and receive their diplomas for successfully completing the CDCC’s Diamond program. The CDCC is proud of their commitment to leadership, their community, and themselves for taking this 10-month journey and seeing it through till the very end. The CDCC also can’t wait to see who takes home the LCD Best in Class Award for the most volunteer hours and activities outside of their workplace.  Will the Class of 2004 rise to the top again? There’s only one way to find out.

Expect to hear the State of the Chamber address, summarizing the accomplishments of the last year from the CDCC. They appreciate their many volunteers throughout the year and will also take a moment to recognize their valued efforts, time, and assistance to them and their members.

The CDCC would like to thank their signature sponsor: Merrill Lynch – Connell & Associates for their continuous generosity in making this event possible. Thank you to sponsors: Advantech, Allen Insurance Group, Burns & Ellis Realtors, Delmarva Power – An Exelon Company, Faw Casson, and L&W Insurance.
