Delmarva Christian Career Day sees various professions

Posted

GEORGETOWN — Delmarva Christian High School hosted a Career Day on March 17 for students to meet over 30 professionals from different fields.

Occupations presented included public service, nonprofit work, business, freelancing, ministry, health care and communications.

Counselor Terri Smith surveyed students to find career choices that best fit their interests. She then scheduled speakers who matched those professions, based on their jobs and walk of faith.

This year’s Career Day keynote speaker was former Delmarva Christian teacher Mike Hague, who serves as an industrial training coordinator at Sussex Tech Adult Education. He shared with the students how God has led his career path and how to become involved in the skilled trades through apprenticeships or what he called the “other four-year degree.”
