Capital School District a finalist at innovation summit

DOVER — The Capital School District was selected as one of 10 finalists among K-12 leaders advancing innovation and fostering meaningful change at the 2023 ASU + GSV Summit on April 17-19.

The district was selected from a worldwide applicant pool of educational leaders.

One of the district’s initiatives, Success for Our Seniors, is a new partnership between Capital schools, the United Way of Delaware, the Delaware Workforce Development Board and the Delaware Racial Justice Collaborative. The collaboration allows the involved organizations to combine their resources to increase their reach through shared common goals.

The program’s goals are:

  • To help students identify the path they intend to take after graduation.
  • To provide guidance and resources to ensure they stay on track after graduating.
  • To celebrate their chosen path and encourage persistence along that path.
  • To leverage technology to streamline access to information, stay connected and follow up after high school.
