Bayhealth’s Festival of Trees in Dover and Milford raises over $11,000

Posted

Bayhealth holds a Festival of Trees each year at its hospitals in Dover and Milford, which serves as both the holiday centerpiece and a fundraising event.

The 2022 festival raised $11,100 through the sale of tickets for raffles to win a tree or wreath decorated with themes by various teams and departments across Bayhealth.

Proceeds support the Employee Assistance Fund, which helps staff who encounter a crisis or face unexpected financial challenges.

The trees and wreaths are decorated the week of Thanksgiving, with ticket sales beginning the day after Thanksgiving, and the raffle taking place just before Christmas.

The 2022 event had 117 trees and 15 wreaths at Bayhealth Hospitals’ Kent and Sussex campuses.

“The camaraderie this festival brings is wonderful for all Bayhealth employees, as well as the community,” said lead patient advocate Jane Hewitt, who helps organize the Festival of Trees each year. “A huge thank-you to Plant Operations and the Community Pharmacy staff for all their help.”

Other departments that played a vital part in the festival’s success were Volunteer Services, the Bayhealth Foundation and Marketing and Communications.
