DOVER — A 47-year-old woman was shot in the leg Sunday, Dover police spokesman Sgt. Mark Hoffman said.

The incident occurred in the 100 block of South New Street, police said. Officers arrived to find the injured woman after a shots-fired report at approximately 4:20 a.m. She was transported to Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus for treatment.

Police said a male suspect is being sought.

The investigation continues, and anyone with information is asked to call 736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be submitted through Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-3333 or here; a cash reward is possible for information leading to an arrest.
