USDA seeks applications to expand production of advanced biofuels
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Justin Maxson, United States Department of Agriculture Deputy Under Secretary for Rural Development, recently announced that USDA will begin accepting applications on Oct. 1 to expand the production of advanced biofuels.
USDA will make $7 million available under the Advanced Biofuel Payment Program, a news release states. Through this program, producers will receive payments to help offset costs associated with the production of advanced biofuels.
Biodiesel, ethanol (other than corn kernel), electricity and biogas produced from anaerobic digesters, and solid fuels are all examples of advanced biofuels.
The enrollment period for producers to sign up to participate during fiscal year 2022 is Oct. 1 to Oct. 31.
Producers who participated in the program in FY2021 and new producers must enroll to receive payments.
