SELBYVILLE — Two men were arrested Friday in connection with the December robbery of a Selbyville convenience store.

Delaware State Police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Heather Pepper said troopers responded Dec. 26 to a Shore Stop at Lighthouse Road and Zion Church Road.

Cpl. Pepper said an investigation determined a male exited the passenger side of a vehicle before entering the business and robbing the clerk at gunpoint before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money. The clerk was not injured during the incident.

Lucas Powell of Millville and Leck Lyons of Ocean View were identified as possible suspects and police found evidence believed to be connected to the robbery while carrying out a search warrant in Mr. Powell’s home Friday.

Cpl. Pepper said approximately 3.3 grams of a counterfeit substance, posed as cocaine and drug paraphernalia, was located at Mr. Powell’s residence. Mr. Lyons was taken into custody without incident as he allegedly drove Mr. Powell’s vehicle and a 38-year-old Laurel woman was also taken into custody at the residence for an active capias.

At Troop 4, Mr. Powell was charged with seven felonies, including first-degree robbery, firearm possession and aggravated menacing. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $148,000 cash bond.

Mr. Lyons was also charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree conspiracy and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $62,000 cash bond.

The 38-year-old woman was arraigned for her capias and released on her own recognizance.
