Two arrested in Milford after drugs, gun found

MILFORD — Two people were arrested on drug and weapon charges after officers approached a vehicle on Linstone Lane on Tuesday, Milford police spokesman Sgt. Robert Masten said.

Police were initially called to the scene at approximately 3:58 a.m. for a report of a person being chased by two men with handguns, Sgt. Masten said. The man reportedly being chased was not found, but during the investigation, several others were contacted in a vehicle.

Further investigation led to the seizure of cocaine, ammunition, drug paraphernalia, currency, a handgun and heroin, Sgt. Masten said.

Kevin L. Woods, 35, of Milford, and Marangely Figueroa, 31, of Dover, were taken into custody.

Mr. Woods was charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, three counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, second-degree conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2, Rehoboth Beach, where a $54,200 cash bail was set. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown.

Ms. Figueroa was charged with three counts of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, tampering with physical evidence, second-degree conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arraigned in JP Court 7, Dover, where secured bond was set at $13,600. She was committed to Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution, New Castle.
