MILFORD — With former Gov. Ruth Ann Minner’s final viewing and funeral services Wednesday in Milford, traffic delays are expected and Milford-area schools are amending schedules.

President Joe Biden is expected to attend as a viewing will be held at the Milford Church of the Nazarene, 11 Salevan Place from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., with services to begin at 1 p.m. The burial will follow at Slaughter Neck Cemetery in Argos Corner.

Motorists should anticipate traffic delays in Milford and Del. 1 for the funeral procession going to the cemetery.

The Milford Police Department, Delaware State Police, and DelDOT will be assisting with traffic.

There will be altered traffic patterns in the area of the church located at the corner of Salevan Place and North DuPont Boulevard (U.S. Rt. 113) beginning at approximately 9 a.m.

Personnel from the Delaware Department of Transportation will have a complete closure of Salevan Place and a closure of the right hand lane of North DuPont Boulevard from the Milford Community Cemetery to Northwest 10th Street until the end of the event.

The crossover adjacent to the cemetery on North DuPont Boulevard will be closed as well. Southbound traffic looking for funeral parking should follow traffic control in the area. The only access to the public parking will be through the Milford Community Cemetery entrance on North DuPont Boulevard.

Motorists are urged to adjust travel schedules those who must travel in the area to expect altered traffic patterns and delays.

Banneker, Ross, and Mispillion Elementary Schools will have an in-person student day with students dismissed at 12:15 p.m.

Morris Early Childhood Center and Milford Central Academy will have an in-person student day with students dismissed at 1:30 pm. There will be no afternoon pre-K at Morris.

To assist with district-wide transportation, Milford High School students will have a virtual learning day with the school day ending at 12:15 pm.

DelDOT urges motorists to use its App on their tablets and smart phones. The DelDOT app can be downloaded free at the Apple and Google Play stores or go to deldot.gov/mobile/
