After a year with a historic pandemic that brought both fiscal and physical impacts, health care may have been pushed to the bottom of the list or is simply too expensive for many to afford. The Greater Delaware Partnership for Hope Innovative Readiness Training hopes to combat that by offering free health care services Aug. 1-9 at three locations around Dover. Free medical, dental and vision care will be provided by military medical professionals at North Dover, South Dover and Towne Point elementary schools.
Delaware officials aim to use recovery funds for mental health services in schools
Lt. Gov. Bethany Hall-Long, Delaware education leaders, mental health advocates and state lawmakers are leading the charge to increase behavioral health services in schools. At a roundtable discussion hosted by William Penn High School, members of the Department of Education outlined how funds from the American Rescue Plan will be utilized to support social-emotional learning, multitiered systems of support and access to behavioral health services for all students.
