Speak Up: Letter response: Infrastructure investment will benefit all Delawareans

Posted

“Nine months and five days ago, President Joe Biden invited me to the Oval Office for a meeting. Together, we discussed the dire need to pass legislation that finally addressed our nation’s infrastructure needs.”

  • If and when the most important infrastructure repairs and creations, such as the ones mentioned by Sen. Carper, are completed and if there are any funds left over, might I suggest they be used to create more roundabouts at Delaware intersections? According to The New York Times (Nov. 21, 2021, e-edition), when “compared with regular intersections, roundabouts significantly reduce injuries and deaths,” which would make our roads safer to travel. In addition, keeping cars moving rather than stopped and idling at intersections saves a lot of carbon emissions from further damaging our environment. As they say, it’s win-win! — Ruth Ashby
