Social media contact leads to underage rape arrest

CAMDEN — A 20-year-old Maryland man was charged with rape after traveling to Delaware three times to have sex with a female juvenile he met through social media, authorities said.

Jordan X. Capra, of Salisbury, Maryland, had communicated with the juvenile for several weeks prior to meeting her in-person, Camden police Chief Marcus Whitney said. An investigation ensued and an arrest warrant was obtained police said.

Mr. Capra was apprehended by Camden police, assisted by the U.S. Marshal’s First State Fugitive Task Force and the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office. He was transported to Delaware on Friday.

Mr. Capra was charged with three counts of fourth-degree rape, and offensive touching. He was held at Sussex County Correctional Institution on a $60,100 cash bond.
