DOVER — A 20-year-old woman was uninjured Tuesday after her vehicle was struck by gunfire multiple times as she was leaving a cemetery gathering for a homicide victim, Dover police spokesman Sgt. Mark Hoffman said.
The incident occurred at approximately 12:45 a.m. in the area of Kenton and Walker roads. The woman had left a nearby cemetery and was turning right onto Walker Road, when shots were discharged from a white vehicle, according to authorities.
The woman then drove to her home and notified police. She described the white vehicle’s occupants as “several Black males,” Sgt. Hoffman said.
Police said an investigation is ongoing and asked anyone with information to call 736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be submitted to law enforcement through Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-3333 or here; a cash reward is possible for information leading to an arrest.
