Police: Stolen truck crashes into another vehicle in Dover

DOVER — Demetrius Wright, 29, of Dover, was arrested Sunday after fleeing from troopers in a stolen truck and crashing into another vehicle, Delaware State Police said.

Authorities said Mr. Wright was driving a Dodge Ram on U.S. 113 around 7:25 a.m., when he swerved to avoid stop sticks placed by police and struck a 2020 Dodge. Mr. Wright exited through a passenger door and was taken into custody, spokeswoman Master Cpl. Heather Pepper said.

Two men in the Dodge suffered minor injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital.

Mr. Wright was charged with disregarding a police officer’s signal, driving while suspended, reckless driving, aggressive driving, driving under the influence of drugs and traffic violations. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, on a $2,470 secured bond.
