MAGNOLIA — Delaware State Police have identified Tracy Hanggi, 39, of Felton, as the victim in a fatal single motor vehicle collision last Saturday.
The DSP Collision Reconstruction Unit continue to investigate this incident on southbound McGinnis Pond Road north of Lexington Mill Road. Ms. Hanggi was a passenger in a vehicle that left the roadway before traveling through a private yard and striking a tree with its front bumper, police said. After striking the tree, DSP said, the vehicle rotated in a clockwise manner before coming to rest and catching fire.
Police said the driver, a 37-year-old male, exited the vehicle on his own. Ms. Hanggi had to be removed by nearby responding citizens, police said. Neither appeared to have suffered injuries from the fire.
The driver was transported to a nearby hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said Ms. Hanggi was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
