Milford announces Community Grant Program

Posted

MILFORD — City Council recently approved the use of American Rescue Plan Act funding for a Community Grant Program.

According to a news release from the city, Milford is receiving $6.33 million in ARPA funding in two installments — one was received in June, with the balance arriving in June 2022.

The fiscal year 2022 budget directed more than $300,000 in ARPA funding to local nonprofit organizations regularly supported through annual appropriations, the release stated.

In recognition of the emergent needs persisting in Milford, however, the city is making additional ARPA funding available to nonprofit applicants on a first come, first served basis through Dec. 31, 2024, or until exhaustion of program funding, whichever comes first.

There are three categories of eligible uses for Milford nonprofits receiving Community Grant Program funds:

  • In response to impacts of the COVID-19 public health emergency or in response to the negative economic effects related to the public health emergency.
  • Provision of premium pay or grants to provide better wages for essential workers.
  • Investment in water, sewer (including stormwater) or broadband infrastructure.

Applicants will be required to submit a cover sheet or online application, a cover letter, a narrative, organizational information, the purpose of funding, an evaluation plan, a project budget, an itemized budget, a budget narrative and IRS tax-exempt status with applicable documentation.

Applications and complete rules can be found here. Questions can be sent to mbarger@milford-de.gov.
