Letter to the Editor: America must remain strong with adversarial nations

Posted

America has many adversaries, who are most pleased to see the “new” American directives, recently imposed by the Biden administration, which will only benefit them.

China is the primary source of concern, and we need to have a dedicated interaction between both Democrat and Republican leadership about it. The Chinese government is a master of deception and manipulating their adversary into believing it is truthful in speaking. However, China is still following Mao Zedong’s 100-year marathon, where he advised Chinese leadership to work to replace the United States as a leader of the world by 2049 (the 100th anniversary of the Communist revolution). America must be extremely cautious when interacting with such a formidable foe engaged in deception of word and manipulation of the unaware, trusting opponent.

As attributed to Confucius, “There cannot be two suns in the sky, nor two emperors on the Earth.” China’s dream is to be that one sun and one emperor on the Earth. The United States must be alert when negotiating discussions or reciprocal action between the two most powerful countries in the world. We must, at all times, confirm what Ronald Reagan spoke, “Trust but verify.” The United States must never acquiesce to their demands.

When President Joe Biden states that his policy to China will be different than former President Donald Trump’s, he must be careful in that approach. China’s President Xi Jinping is a hard-liner who has required discipline throughout his realm. Though charming throughout discussions, he will never negate China’s best interests. China is not a “fragile flower,” and its main effort in dealing with the United States is to secure positive conclusion to discussions or actions. China is definitely not the “developing nation” the World Health Organization (WHO) has designated it to be. Russia is wary of China’s powerful abilities and is not the No. 1 American adversary, as many individuals believe. Russia is no longer the No. 1 Communist nation. China has now claimed that distinction.

We must not decline our approach when making foreign policy adjustments. Any interaction or reversal in changes that achieved American superiority in our adversarial programs will only gratify the nations of Iran, Russia and China.

President Biden must learn to stay the course, ensuring a strong American leadership throughout the world.

May God always bless the United States of America!
