HARRINGTON — A 27-year-old woman was charged with reckless endangering and other offenses following an incident in the first block of Commerce Street on Tuesday, authorities said.

Harrington police spokesman Capt. Earl Brode said Marissa K. Schurman was sitting in her vehicle outside her residence, when an argument ensued with two people passing by at approximately 7:42 p.m. Authorities said Ms. Schurman then allegedly drove her vehicle at the people, almost striking one of them.

Police alleged that Ms. Schurman subsequently exited her vehicle and attempted to stab the people with a pocketknife. They then fled the scene and called police.

Ms. Schurman was located at her residence and taken into custody without incident.

She was charged with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony (three counts), second-degree attempted assault (two counts), first-degree reckless endangering (two counts) and aggravated menacing. She was arraigned via videophone at Justice of the Peace Court 7, Dover, and released on her own recognizance.
