DOVER — Two arrests resulted from a firearms investigation Thursday night, authorities said.

Iesha Brown, 25, and a 17-year-old juvenile were at the front of their residence in the 400 block of South Governors Avenue at 10:14 p.m. when Dover police and Delaware Probation and Parole officers approached. Police said the juvenile quickly ran inside the home.

Ms. Brown ran to the front door, police said, and prevented officers from entering the home. The juvenile was in possession of a firearm, authorities said.

Police said Ms. Brown was pushing and swinging at officers and used her fingernails to dig into officers’ hands during the altercation. She was taken into custody.

Police said the juvenile was taken into custody and found with a loaded 9mm handgun and .7 grams of crack cocaine.

Ms. Brown was charged with resisting arrest with force, disorderly conduct, second-degree assault, hindering prosecution, criminal mischief and violation of probation. She was released on her own recognizance.

The juvenile was charged with possession of a firearm/ammunition by person prohibited (two counts), possession of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest. The juvenile was committed to Stevenson Detention Center.
