Felton man arrested for felony DUI after crash

FELTON — A 50-year-old Felton man was arrested on a fourth DUI charge after a single motor vehicle crash in the area of U.S. 13 and Memorial Avenue, Felton police Cpl. Christopher Guild said.

According to police, the driver was identified as Eric Michael Lefort, who was found unresponsive after his vehicle traveled into a ditch. There was drug paraphernalia in plain view, according to authorities, and a DUI investigation ensued.

A vehicle search was conducted where more drug paraphernalia was located inside the vehicle. Mr. Lefort was taken into custody without incident, police said.

Mr. Lefort was charged with DUI of any drug, possession of drug paraphernalia, malicious mischief by a motor vehicle, and failure to remain within a single lane. He was unable to be arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on an intoxication hold.
