DOVER — Two Dover residents were arrested on multiple drug charges Thursday, after heroin and paraphernalia were located during a traffic stop near Rodney Village, Delaware State Police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Heather Pepper said.

Sarah Rowan Conard, 27, was driving a black Chevrolet Avalanche with Ryan Gerontakos, 28, and their 1-year-old child, when troopers conducted a stop on the vehicle just after 1:30 p.m.

Cpl. Pepper said a computer inquiry on the vehicle’s registration revealed that the tag displayed was not registered to the Avalanche.

During the stop, troopers saw drug paraphernalia, suspected bundles of heroin and a large sum of money in plain view, Cpl. Pepper said. A criminal investigation ensued, and both occupants were detained without incident.

During a search of the vehicle, troopers also found 314 bags of heroin weighing around 2.2 grams, $1,311 in suspected drug proceeds and drug paraphernalia, authorities said.

Ms. Conard was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, second-degree conspiracy, endangering the welfare of a child, possession of drug paraphernalia, unauthorized use of a display plate and improper lights. She was committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution, New Castle, on a $9,050 bond.

Mr. Gerontakos was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, second-degree conspiracy, endangering the welfare of a child and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a $8,500 unsecured bond.
