WASHINGTON — U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced Wednesday that the Department of Agriculture is making up to $10 million available for people living in rural towns to develop renewable-energy projects to cut energy costs and contribute to efforts to reduce pollution that contributes to climate change.
These funds will be targeted to communities that have been historically underinvested and disinvested.
Details about an upcoming informational webinar will be posted on the Rural Energy Pilot Program webpage.
Prospective applicants must inform the agency by submitting a letter of intent prior to submission of an application. The letters must be submitted electronically by 11:59 p.m. April 19.
