Delaware State Police release names of victims, suspect in Smyrna double homicide

SMYRNA — Delaware State Police on Thursday released the names of two victims and a suspect involved in a double homicide earlier this week.

Authorities identified Stephanie Gill, 38, of Smyrna, as the person who was shot and killed in a parking lot at Smyrna Middle School on Tuesday morning. Police also said Deanna Dominick-Dalton, 21, of Clayton, was found dead with apparent gunshot wounds later in the day in an apartment at McLane Gardens in Smyrna.

Authorities named Llewellyn Gill, 47, of Hartly, as the supect who fatally shot his wife, Ms. Gill, before fleeing from the school in a vehicle. He later shot himself to death during a police pursuit that concluded when his vehicle crashed in the Galena, Maryland, area, police added.

The DSP Homicide Unit continues to investigate, and asked anyone with information to contact Sgt. Yeich at 741-2703. Information may also be provided by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-3333 or online.
