Delaware agencies holding pedestrian safety event

Posted

NEW CASTLE — On Thursday, Delaware State Police in conjunction with the Office of Highway Safety and Delaware Department of Transportation, will conduct a joint event interacting with the public and educating pedestrians on the importance of utilizing crosswalks, carrying a flashlight and wearing visible clothing.

The event will be held from approximately 4. to 6 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 13 and Boulden Boulevard in New Castle. There has been an increase in pedestrians struck on the roadways and with October designated as Pedestrian Safety Month, there is an added importance on expressing proper ways to cross the street especially at busy intersections, DSP said.
