MILLSBORO – Clothing Our Kids, a community-based nonprofit, has received a $5,000 grant from the Carl M. Freeman Foundation in efforts to provide new clothing to needy students in Sussex County.
The Freeman Foundation is a private family foundation established to support and promote community-based leadership and giving.
The foundation’s grant parameters mirror that of COK, which assists needy students with clothing for an equal start in their education.
Through ongoing support of community partnerships like the Freeman Foundation, COK has expanded from elementary to middle school and now also supports students in five high schools – Cape Henlopen, Sussex Central, Woodbridge, Seaford and Laurel.
