CAMBRIDGE — An arrest has been made in a June stabbing incident, after Cambridge police determined that the victim had given them false information about the attack.

On June 22 at about 1:30 a.m., officers were called to the 500 block of Greenwood Avenue in reference to a subject stabbed. Upon the officer’s arrival, they located the victim, a 21-year-old male.

He said that while riding his bike on Pine Street, a group of four to five males approached him and tried to rob him. The victim said one of the subjects then stabbed him in his abdomen with an unknown type of knife.

He said he was able to get to his residence in the 500 block of Greenwood Avenue before calling for help. The victim was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma where he was treated for his wound.

A report released on July 8, said, “Through investigation by detectives at the Cambridge Police Department, it was determined that the victim of this incident was not honest about where he was stabbed. It was learned that the girlfriend, identified as a 21-year-old Cambridge woman, had stabbed the victim at their apartment on Greenwood Avenue.”

On July 2, an arrest warrant was obtained charging her with attempted first- and attempted second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and dangerous weapon with intent to injure. On July 6, Ty’keria E. Sheppard was located and placed under arrest. She is currently being held at the Dorchester County detention center on no bond.
