CAMBRIDGE — On June 16 at 12:15 a.m., Cambridge Police responded to the area of Greenwood Avenue and Camelia Street in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a 17-year-old male in the 900 block of Camelia Street with a gunshot wound to the left thigh.

The juvenile was losing a large amount of blood. Officers first on the scene were able to render crucial medical aid to slow the bleeding until the arrival of medical personnel. The juvenile was later flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma, where he is currently being treated.

A second victim located in the 500 block of Greenwood Avenue also sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. That victim was a 14-year-old male and was treated and later released from the hospital.

The blood trail led officers to the 600 block of Greenwood Avenue, where the shooting apparently occurred. Several bullet casings were recovered, and surveillance video of the shooting is being obtained and attempts are being made to identify the suspect(s).
