Spectrum: What’s new for Showcase 2022

CAMBRIDGE - The arts will fill historic High Street on Sunday, Sept. 25, from noon to 5 p.m., for the Dorchester Center for the Arts Showcase event, now in its 46th year. This art walk and street festival is DCA’s way of “Celebrating our Creative Community,” and is a family-friendly free arts event, held rain or shine, and generously supported by the Nathan Foundation and the Maryland State Arts Council.

There will be five stages for performances during the event. The current lineup includes:

Stage 1 - Courthouse

Noon – 1 p.m. Eastern Shore Dance Academy

1:45-2:45 p.m. Quinn Parsley Quartet

3:30-4:30 p.m. Linda Harris Duo

Stage 2 - BayVanguard Bank

12:30-1:30 p.m. Pete Baker

2:45-3:45 p.m. Mike Elzey & Ben Connolly

Stage 3 - Dorchester Center for the Arts

1:30-2:30 p.m. Hrupsa Sisters

2:45-3:30 p.m. Dance Troupe

Stage 4A - Ridley Porch (103 High St.)

12:30-2 p.m. John Jacobs, Marianne Styles, KC Stangl

3-4 p.m. MG Mariachi Quintet

Stage 4B - Cambridge House B&B Porch

2-3 p.m. Poet Troupe Yezzi & Williamson

Food vendors will be onsite, along with art booths featuring fine art and craft, from paintings and sculpture to jewelry and wearables; even heritage arts such as blacksmithing. A few booth spots are still available. Email mcooperman@dorchesterarts.org for details.

Visitors will also find several booths featuring area nonprofits, on hand to share their good work, as well as three areas for interactive family arts activities.
