Spectrum: Summer fun for kids with DCA

CAMBRIDGE - Dorchester Center for the Arts will be presenting eight weeks of creative summer fun for youth, both onsite and off. The program begins with five weeks of Summer Art Camp at DCA from 12-2:30 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday. This program is open to ages 8 and up. Arts professionals instruct all camp programs.

Each week is $75 for DCA members, $90 for non-members. Scholarships are available - please call 410-228-7782.

Week 1: Cityscape – June 27-July 1

Week 2: Animals – July 5-8

Week 3: Legends – July 11- 15

Week 4: Peace – July 18-22

Week 5: Self Expression – July 25-29

The onsite program at DCA will be followed by a free summer art program in parks and community spaces throughout Dorchester County. DCA will be traveling with supplies and instructors weekly on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to noon, and each day will be a different location. There is no charge for participation. All are welcome. No registration needed.

Offsite week 1: Monday, Aug. 8 – Cambridge; Wednesday, Aug. 10 – Church Creek; Friday, Aug. 12 – Cambridge.

Offsite week 2: Monday, Aug. 15 – East New Market, Friendship Park; Wednesday, Aug. 17 – Vienna, Handsell; Friday, Aug. 19 – Hurlock, Community Center/Old Library

Offsite week 3: Monday, Aug. 22 – Secretary, Town Park; Wednesday, Aug. 24 – Vienna; Friday, Aug. 26 – Neck District, Fire House.
