National Hard Crab Derby Cooking contest contestants wanted

CRISFIELD — Do you have a favorite recipe using Maryland Blue Crab? If so, it may be a prize winner. Entries are now being accepted for the National Hard Crab Derby’s 57th annual Crab Cooking Contest set for Friday, Sept. 3, at Somerset Intermediate School in Westover.

Contestants will compete for plaques and cash prizes ranging from $50 to $100 in each of the four divisions: Appetizers, Crab Cakes, Main Dish, and Soups/Salads. From the top recipe in each category, judges will select a Grand Prize winner for an additional $100. The Best Presentation dish will also receive honors.
