Man, 22, fatally shot in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE – In the early hours of March 3, a 22-year-old Cambridge man was shot and killed.

At approximately 12:08 a.m., Cambridge Police Department officers were alerted to two “Shot Spotter” alerts in the areas of Pine Street at Boundary Avenue and on North Drive with multiple shots being fired. At the same time, Dorchester County Emergency Operations Center received multiple calls for shots fired in the same areas.

Officers arrived on scene, locating a 22-year-old male victim with a gunshot wound. They rendered aid to the victim until Dorchester County EMS arrived.

The man was transported to the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Dorchester, where he was later pronounced dead.

The male victim was identified as Daiquan Elijah Taylor. CPD has requested the assistance of the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit with the investigation.

Any witnesses are asked to contact either the Cambridge Police Department Criminal Investigation Division or the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit. All callers can remain anonymous.
