Lower Shore nonprofit professional development event to return in June

SALISBURY — United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore and Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore (CFES) will present the Lower Shore Nonprofit Summit: Together Again on Friday, June 10 at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center.

The professional development event for nonprofit employees and volunteers will include a full day of networking and presentations on topics of importance to the nonprofit sector. This year’s event represents an expansion of previous half-day Summits held prior to the pandemic.

“We are excited to gather our nonprofit professional community for the Nonprofit Summit. Despite the challenges of the last two years, the sector has shown resilience.  Coming together to share our knowledge and ideas with one another is key to building the sector’s strength,” said Erica Joseph, president of CFES.

Dr. Paula Morris, professor emeritus at Salisbury University, will present the keynote address.  Morris taught marketing at Salisbury University’s Perdue School of Business for many years and is a recipient of the President’s Call to Service Award for her work in the community.

Breakout sessions will follow on topics including Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, major gifts fundraising, collaborate partnerships, restorative practices, cybersecurity, and customer service.

The fee for registration is $35 and includes breakfast, lunch, and snacks. A reduced fee of $25 is offered to subsequent registrants from the same organization by using the promo code “multiple.”  To register visit cfes.org/events.

A vendor expo, networking opportunities, and mindfulness activities will also be offered.  Vendors interested in promoting their services to local nonprofits are sought to participate in the vendor expo. The fee for vendors is $25. To enquire about vendor opportunities, contact Heather Mahler at hmahler@cfes.org.

The Lower Shore Nonprofit Summit: Together Again is generously sponsored by CareFirst and The Campbell Foundation.
