Delaware State Police ID person fatally shot in Dover

DOVER — Delaware State Police have identified Bruce E. Wright, 33, of Dover, as the person who died as a result of a shooting incident March 24 in the Capitol Park community.

Authorities said Mr. Wright was shot in the driver seat of a vehicle parked on Senator Avenue. Police said investigation determined that Marcus Bailey, 18, of Wilmington, had entered the back seat of the car and demanded property from Mr. Wright.

Police said Mr. Wright was shot in the upper torso and Mr. Bailey fled from the vehicle in an unknown direction. Mr. Wright was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mr. Bailey was later taken into custody without incident during a traffic stop in Long Neck.

He was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by person prohibited and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.

Mr. Bailey was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $1,120,000 cash bond.
