CAMBRIDGE — The Cambridge Police Department released an update July 12 regarding a shooting incident. On May 27 at 3:45 p.m., Cambridge Police responded to the 600 block of Greenwood Avenue in reference to a shooting, where they located a male victim with a single gunshot wound to the hip.

During the investigation, detectives were aware that a 20-year-old Cambridge man was with the victim when he was shot. However, the man denied any involvement.
On June 21, the man was arrested for a separate incident and on his person was a loaded 9mm handgun. Through analysis, it was determined that a casing that was located at the scene of the shooting on May 27 was fired by the same 9mm handgun.
On July 8, Tayshaun D. Allen was served with an arrest warrant charging him with first- and second-degree assault, along with several handgun charges. He is currently being held without bond.

Stabbing
On July 11 at approximately 3:37 a.m., Cambridge Police Officers responded to the area of 601 Sunburst Hwy in reference to a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim who had a stab wound to the right shoulder area. The male victim advised that the stabbing occurred at an abandoned warehouse behind Dorchester Avenue and that another subject was also stabbed and was still at the abandoned warehouse. Officers tended to the victim, who was transported by ambulance to the hospital and was later released. Officers then began searching the area and found inside an abandoned storage barn a male subject lying on a mattress with a large laceration to the back of the head.

Officers immediately began giving aid to the victim until EMS personnel arrived on the scene and transported the victim to the hospital where he was treated and later released. Evidence from the scene determined that the incident occurred in the abandoned warehouse where it is believed some type of argument ensued which led to the stabbing. This investigation is continuing as suspects are being identified.

Shots fired
On July 11 at 9:29 p.m., Cambridge Police were contacted about a vehicle being shot at while traveling on the 600 block of Cross Street. The victim advised that she was turning onto the 600 block of Cross Street with her 2-year-old daughter in the vehicle when she noticed a male subject wearing a face mask, white T-shirt, and tan pants on the driver’s side of the road.

The victim told police she saw the male subject step back and raise his arm up, then she heard two gunshots and saw the muzzle flash. The victim said she left the area and called the police.
Police located two bullet holes from the vehicle, one in the left bumper and the other in the back passenger-side tire. Anyone with any additional information is asked to contact the Cambridge Police Department at 410-228-3333 or 410-228-3784. You can remain anonymous.
