CAMBRIDGE — On June 5 at approximately 2:35 p.m., Cambridge Police responded to the 1880 Bank, 304 High St., in reference to a suspect attempting to pass a note to the teller advising of a robbery and to give up all the money. The suspect left the bank without any money and no weapon was displayed by the suspect. While canvassing the area Cambridge Police received a call to the Pep-Up Store located at 209 Hayward St. in reference to a stolen vehicle. The vehicle turned out to be a Pep-Up work vehicle.

After reviewing surveillance video from both the 1880 Bank and Pep-up it was determined that the suspect inside the bank and the suspect that had stolen the truck was the same person. The suspect was described as a caucasian male who appeared to be in his late 40s to mid-50s wearing a tan/gray baseball cap, orange jacket with a white stripe across, and dark colored pocket on the left side of the shirt. The suspect also had on blue pants. The suspect appeared to have a gray beard, and was caught on a security camera at the Pep-Up store.

The vehicle that was stolen from Pep-up was described as a 2016 Chevrolet truck, red in color, with Delaware tag CL35623.

On June 6, Paul E. Fleetwood, 51 of no fixed address was identified as the possible suspect and arrested by Cambridge Police. The vehicle was located and returned to the owners. Fleetwood was charged with attempted bank robbery, motor vehicle theft, theft over $100,000, and other related charges. Fleetwood is currently being held in the Dorchester County Detention Center without bond.
