2021 Milford Freedom Award nominations being taken

Nominate the people in the community that you believe deserve to be recognized

THE 2021 FREEDOM AWARDS, honoring Milford’s true hometown heroes are now taking nominations.

These awards, sponsored by the Delaware State News, are intended to shine a light on the good work done by local residents who on a daily basis go above and beyond to serve others and their community unselfishly.

If you know of a current Milford resident deserving of special recognition, please complete the form below.
All fields are required.

Nominees will be placed in one of the following categories by the 2021 selection committee: Business Volunteer, Emergency Responder, Faith/Spiritual Leader, Educator, Mentor/Coach, Community Volunteer, Veteran Volunteer, Lifetime Achievement and Youth Volunteer.
All nominees should be of good character in the following areas: positive role model; history of volunteerism; sacrificing personal gain to achieve noble goals; special awards and recognitions; brought positive recognition to our community; embodies the finest example in the following areas:

  • Encourages Education
  • Supports Arts and Culture
  • Promotes Environmental Consciousness
  • Makes Economic Contributions to the Community
  • Models Leadership and Courage
  • Shows Consistent Dedication and Commitment to Worthy Causes
  • Honors the Diversity within the Community
  • Spiritual Leadership
  • Dedicated to Public Service.


The selection committee reserves the right to change the nominee's category placement.

The 2021 Freedom Award recipients will be honored at the 20th annual Riverwalk/Freedom Festival on Saturday, September 18.

All nominees for these awards must be current Milford residents.
