CAMBRIDGE - Groove City Black Heritage & Culture Group is partnering with T.E.A.M (Together Everyone Achieves More) Inc. to enhance programs and provide resources to help youth and families in Cambridge.

T.E.A.M. is a nonprofit behavioral health provider serving Baltimore, Upper Marlboro and Hagerstown in Maryland, as well as Wilmington, Delaware. They aim to inspire, empower and work with communities to alleviate poverty through education, mental and physical wellness services.

Friday, May 20, T.E.A.M brought in 22 staff from their different locations to introduce themselves to families in the Greenwood Avenue neighborhood. Amongst the T.E.A.M staff were CEO Khayree Robinson, Director Ariel Adams, LCPC-NCC, and Executive VP Bill Robinson.

Lynette Wongus of GCBHCG, escorted and led the team throughout the neighborhood. They were able to talk to families and enroll over 100 families in their program.

On Monday, May 22, T.E.A.M. staff, Mike Wyche and Bill Robinson, continued working from their satellite office at the Foxtail Community Center to begin the first phase of the program with the families that were enrolled.

“We are excited about this collaboration because we believe their services will help the families and teens in our community. It is our goal to make a positive impact and to bring something different to our community that will strengthen families,” said Wongus.

“Working with T.E.A.M. and understanding their programs, I believe will help redirect and give teens and families a new perspective about how to have a healthier lifestyle.  As we research and expand our services, we will find programs and partnerships that will best fit the needs of our community and T.E.A.M. is the first step to meeting this goal,” said Veronica Taylor, executive director/president of GCBHCG.
