Dorchester Center for the Arts welcomes the Annapolis Photography Workshop Group for a January exhibition in the Main Gallery, titled “Memories of Autumn.”

Internationally recognized photographer and educator David Blecman founded this group in September 2011, which has grown to over 1,300 member photographers. The purpose of the group is to offer educational workshops and instruction to those that want to improve their photography and improve the understanding of their equipment.

The group has enjoyed over 500 events in the United States, Canada, Cuba, the Caribbean, the Bahamas and Europe. Membership is free at meetup.com/annapolisphoto.

David, a member of the Professional Photographers of America, started his photographic career in 1978 right out of high school. He is now an award-winning photographer and instructor, having taught on three continents and in over a dozen countries.

In addition to an international corporate clientele, David has also photographed such celebrities as President George W. Bush, Christina Aguilera, Jimmy Buffett, Steely Dan, Moody Blues, Beyonce and Destiny’s Child, Celine Dion, Gene Simmons and KISS, and more. David currently shoots for magazines, clothiers, fashion designers and other print and commercial accounts, as well as for models, actors and their agencies.

“Memories of Autumn” exhibiting artists include John Breen, Rose Polling, Laxman Udas Pandey, Karen Jury, Bob Buckheit, Dan Huddleston, Sharon Lee, Trish Kotzen, Curt Lafey, Vince Ferrari, Mike Holmes, Dave Blecman, Nancy Henry, Barbara Gilbert and Janet Kerr.

The exhibition runs Jan. 7-29. The Second Saturday Artists’ Reception takes place on Jan. 8 from 5-7:30 p.m., featuring music by Rick Hester.
