MILLSBORO — The Women’s Club of Indian River, an affiliate of the Delaware State Federation of Women’s Clubs, recently held its monthly meeting at the Indian River Yacht Club with speaker Lauren Brueckner from the Court Appointed Special Advocates program.

Ms. Brueckner spoke about how to join CASA, a nonprofit that supports youths in foster care. She said CASAs are the eyes and ears for these children in court and gave examples of how the volunteers impact the kids’ welfare.

CASAs are required to complete 30 hours of training, and volunteers are needed for the next session, beginning in June. Contact lauren.brueckner@delaware.gov for information.

The Women’s Club of Indian River meets on the second Monday of each month. For details, call 302-947-2640.
