DOVER - Allen Durham, 30, of Dover was arrested on weapons and burglary charges following an incident early Monday morning, authorities said.

Officers responded to a home in the 800 block of South State Street at approximately 2:28 a.m. A resident saw Mr. Durham on the enclosed front porch of the home after hearing glass break, Dover police spokesman Sgt. Mark Hoffman said. Officers arrived and took Mr. Durham into custody without incident.

Police said officers located a handgun on the sidewalk leading up to the front door of the residence and a loaded magazine concealed in a chair that Mr. Durham was sitting in when taken into custody.

Mr. Durham was charged with first-degree burglary, possession of a firearm by person prohibited, possession of firearm during commission of a felony, and criminal mischief. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $90,000 cash bond.
