Vehicle struck by gunfire in Smyrna

SMYRNA - Investigation into an occupied vehicle being struck by gunfire on Sunday is ongoing, Smyrna Police spokesperson Lt. Brian Donner said.

Police said the vehicle was occupied by an 18-year-old, two 17-year-olds and a 15-year-old when struck at around 4 p.m. in the area of West North Street and Lincoln Street. The vehicle was in motion at the time, Lt. Donner said.

Occupants told police that their vehicle had been followed by a dark colored sedan just prior to the shooting. Police determined that two to three shots had been fired and the vehicle was struck at least one.

No injuries were reported.

Police asked anyone with information to call Det. M. Sarkissian at 302-653-9217.
