Two charged with burglary in Lewes incident

LEWES - Two arrests were made after Delaware State Police responded to a burglary in progress incident Sunday, spokesman Senior Cpl. Leonard DeMalto said.

Police said that at approximately 10:12 p.m., troopers responded to a home on Pecan Court regarding subjects who were attempting to break into a residence. The homeowner was not present at the time, but on his security camera he saw a male holding a large knife and walking around the screened-in porch area, police said.

Aviation established a perimeter, the homeowner reported that he could see two suspects inside of his garage, police said.

A short time later, two males walked out of the front door wearing face coverings. Troopers attempted to detain one of the suspects at the scene, but he physically resisted arrest, police said.

A 17-year-old male from Chesapeake Beach, Maryland was taken into custody after a brief struggle, and troopers recovered a large knife that had been concealed in his pocket, police said. The second suspect, identified as Nathan Lagimoniere, 18, of Huntingtown, Maryland, was taken into custody without incident, according to authorities.

Mr. Lagimoniere was charged with second-degree burglary, wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, second-degree conspiracy, and criminal mischief. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $18,100 cash bond.

The juvenile was charged with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, second-degree burglary, wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, second-degree conspiracy, resisting arrest, and criminal mischief. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Stevenson House Detention Center on $30,600 secured bond.
