GEORGETOWN – Sussex Central High School’s Take Two Drama Club will present “The 39 Steps” by special permission of Concord Theatricals and Samuel French.
Performances are on Friday, Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. and on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Premiere Center for the performing Arts at Sussex Central High School, 26026 Patriots Way, Georgetown.
In an Indian River School District press release, Sussex Central High School drama instructor David Warick says the play” is a madcap version” of the famous Hitchcock spy thriller, also called ‘The 39 Steps.’
“The trick here is that the authors have the entire movie – with over 30 parts – played on stage by only four actors. The craziness of that few people playing that many parts makes the play really funny and entertaining,” Mr. Warick said.
Tickets, available online at bit.ly/3qCiIUI, are $13 for general admission (not including a processing fee) and $10 for seniors (not including a processing fee).
Sussex Central teachers, seniors and middle school students can enter on a two-for-one basis. Online payment is preferred and Take Two offers a discount for online purchases.
Tickets will also be available at the door for $15. However, no one will be turned away for inability to pay. Concessions and drinks will be available at a separate cost.
Take Two Drama Club is a non-profit club and drama boosters’ organization (501c3) which supports the production of plays and musicals for the students of Sussex Central High School and the surrounding communities.
All ticket proceeds go directly back into the production of future shows and to supporting the students of Sussex Central in studying and creating theatre.
