SMYRNA — Some local kids with all the right moves competed well at an international tae kwon do competition earlier this month.
Darius Raines, Ryland Fuller, Baylie Cerutti, Brooklynn Jones, Salma Omaid and Logan Sahn traveled to the Global Taekwon-Do Federation World Championship in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
The group was coached by its master, Anthony Skinner, and Ashley Raines served as team manager.
Each child participated in patterns and sparring:
The group from Global Taekwon-Do Center in Smyrna flew from New York on Sept. 9, had a layover in Istanbul and then continued to Turkey. They returned Sept. 18.
Ms. Raines said the team has also been invited to participate in the Global Taekwon-Do Federation World Championship in Kazakhstan in July 2024.
