LAUREL — The older population will again gather for CHEER’s annual Trap Pond Fall Festival on Sept. 2.

The event, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will feature food, performances and activities, as well as the traditional fried-chicken dinner with all the trimmings at noon.

Entertainment will include DJ Sky Brady and others, plus vendors representing services for older adults, raffles and door prizes are on tap.

Pontoon boat rides will be available for a fee, with registration required at local CHEER centers. There will also be a guided nature walk through the park, where admission will be free that day.

Tickets for the festival are $6 for ages 60-plus and $8 for those younger. They are available at all CHEER activity centers and at the festival entrance on the day of the event. The park is located on Del. 24.

COVID-19 restrictions in force at the time are recommended for admission.

Proceeds will benefit CHEER’s programs for the older individuals of Sussex County.

For information, call your local CHEER or Robin Greene at 302-853-4199.
