SEAFORD — An occupied home in the 8000 block of Nylon Avenue was damaged by gunfire Friday, Delaware State Police Senior Cpl. Leonard DeMalto said.

At approximately 12:20 a.m., troopers responded after receiving a report of shots being fired in the area. When they arrived, Cpl. DeMalto said, they contacted a 19-year-old woman who said her home had been damaged by gunfire.

The house was also occupied by two 21-year-old men at the time, but no one was injured.

Troopers recovered numerous shell casings from the road, but there was no suspect information available Friday, police said. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.

The Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate and asked witnesses to contact Detective P. LaPlaca at 302-856-5850, send a message via the state police Facebook page or contact Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-847-3333.
